I contacted Games Plus.....
it is possible that they will not need the entire room for their
tournament.....(the organizer predicted not a full turn out)
also I asked if we can use the front table...
in any case...
Games Plus said that it is up to the Person Running the store that night
if we can use the front table,
also there may actually be room.
So,
the 17th should work out as planned.

Brad,

If you aren't an icicle Very Happy are common magic items allowed in the battle of Hordes or is it common units only. Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

Pat

P.s. Chuck gave me two white dragons for prizes tonight.

Yes, common items are also allowed. All dragonkin must be commons as well.

I agree Jim the white dragons are beautiful.

It was fantastic meeting the Windy City Bone rollers I hope in April when I am able to make the trip again that Chuck will be able to make the game as well. I am curious to see Chuck rolls and Ray rolls both in one game Shocked

Also a big thanks to Pat Pint for a copy of the rules out of the new starters. Much easier for me to take to the LHS to try and promote dice than my binder of the rules I printed was to carry.

For March 2007, we'll be getting together at Games Plus! in Mt. Prospect, IL on the 17th at 6 p.m.

Format is: Return of the Leprechauns
36 health, no more than half your army can be mages. All mages must have the green aspect (i.e. Coral Elf, Swamp Stalker, Scalder, Treefolk, Green Dragonmaster, Green magical items/artifacts).

Standard tournament rules. Note that we will be using the new rules "Dragon Dice™ II: Gamer's Edition." See the SFR website at http://www.sfr-inc.com

Cool, I heard also that there will be a HUGE collection of Dragon Dice™ auctioned off at Games plus--probably tonight!!

I haven't gotten out to any of these events, but I've heard of them. Maybe I can show up this month or the next.

Since my army was completely killed off in the last meeting,
I have the honors of choosing the next game's format.
I would like to suggest:

Starter Box:

Using one the the 3 different starter boxes races,
create an army based on
Lava Elves / Coral Elves
Dwarves / Goblins
Swamp Stalkers/ Amazon

if the Windy City Director would also like to, include:
Undead / Feral

The dice do not need to be from the Starter Boxes,
but the distribution of health should match the starter box.
i.e. 18 health must be Coral Elves
18 health must be Lava elves

1 monster 1 rare 3 uncommon 5 common
so no minor terrains or magic items
or dragonkin or White Dragons,
just play with the dice available from the Starter Set.

I think 50% magic should be in effect,
but that too is up to the Director's Discretion.

For April 2007, we'll be getting together at Games Plus! in Mt. Prospect, IL on the 21st at 6 p.m.

Format is: Pseudo-Starters
Construct an army that could be pulled from one of the new Two-Player Starters (either Coral Elf/Lava Elf, Dwarf/Goblin, or Amazon/Swamp Stalker).

36 health total. That means you must have 18 health of each race, and each race must have one monster, one rare, 3 uncommons, and 5 commons. You must bring two terrains, and they cannot be the same type. No restriction on the number of mages.

Eldarim, Royalty, White Dragon, Dragonkin, Minor Terrains, Magical Items/Artifacts/Medallions, Firewalker, Undead, Feral, Frostwing, Scalder, and Treefolk are not allowed.

Standard tournament rules. Note that we will be using the new rules "Dragon Dice™™ II: Gamer's Edition." See the SFR website at http://www.sfr-inc.com

Is sneak attack allowed? Razz
Since Firecloud is only a single missile face on the Genie?

Now that the starters are out, I think it's safe to stop calling these the "new rules" and just call them the "standard rules." Very Happy Mr. Green

Sneak Attack, while it functions during a missile attack, is not a missile SAI. Brad's definition is for SAIs that function during a missile attack and can affect units or armies at another terrain with damage.
