For October 2008, we'll be getting together at Games Plus! in Mt. Prospect, IL on the 18th at 6 p.m.

Format is: Battlefest
This event isn't for the timid or weak! Bring your toughest 60-health army and join the night's battle of blood and mayhem. Bring a 60-health army composed of any combination of tournament legal dice. None of the normal army construction limits, including limitations on the number of magic users or number of any individual die, apply.

In addition, we'll be playing 2-player games only (unless there is an odd number of people, in which case there will be one 3-player game and the rest will be 2-player games).

In another addition, Chuck and Jim will face off in the first round with the battlesfest armies they brought to GenCon '08.

Standard tournament rules. See the SFR website at http://www.sfr-inc.com/StarterRules.pdf

Dust Bowl

What do these dice have in common?

They all seem to be a bit dusty...
well mine are anyways...
so dust off those unused dice....
Prepare for... The Dust Bowl

36 health standard rules...
build armies with dice you seldom use or see light of day or dusty or..well you get the idea...
piMaster will make it official...
I hope. Very Happy

Hey Pat,

I just noticed that the GenCon '09 MB100 description (listed in another thread) stated "no magestorm". Did you want to include Magestorm or not?

Is the Kings' Die a monster? If you know the answer to that question, then you know the answer to your own question.

Well then...aren't we the touchy one. Confused

I just thought it would be nice to make MB100 a little different than monster bash is all.

Just for the record...
I was going to ask if we could use a King before the magestorm question was asked,
I'm not just asking questions to ask questions...
I stopped doing that at 9 years old.
(or at least I was told anyways)
I was suggesting a variation, not a clarification.
In any event...sorry.

Gentlemen,

Sorry I didn't make it clear. So that things are consistent with how this will be run, no Magestorm dice. I'm going a step further and taking that to no promotional dice, period. This includes King's Die, Medallions,
White Dragons, and Hybrid Dragons.

So medallion is not a unit...therefore it's legal
(Not to say I wanted to use one) Confused

Ok you answered your own question...well not really....I still need conformation as I really am not sure.
And maybe other players might wonder as well.

If it were to say all of your components in your starting forces must have green in them...then that rules out medallions...
again..answering my own question...but still with uncertainty.

Well since I picked the format I get to clarify. "units" is the correct term. If you want to bring magic items that are not green, yes that is legal. And of course, dragons and dragonkin can be any color.

Footnote to next month's meeting:

Bring Several Armies...
you are not bound to a single army per opponent.

I would like to see 1 hour games as well...
I could bring an hourglass,
however the timer idea is to keep the pairings going and to simulate a tournament environment.
(the 1 hour idea is just a suggestion...and a reason to bring my hourglass Laughing )
I have 2 hourglasses...you probably would need more as the pairings would not all end the same time...but I would only bring one.

One hour games:
in the event that a matchup finishes early,
play another game until the time runs out....
if another matchup ends early..perhaps switch players.
Either way...a centralized one hour timer (The Hour Glass) will determine rounds.
We should be able to make 3 full rounds.

with that said...
piMaster will make the final format construction in his announcement.
